2025 End of Year Celebration
December 15th, 2025
It wouldn’t be the end of another great year of club life without a big get together to celebrate the year gone by. The night is all about recognising what we’ve achieved this year and thanking those individuals who have gone the extra mile.

This year started off in January with a few hardy divers braving the chilly waters of Capernwray in the Lake District. From there, we warmed up with some Madeira sunshine, followed by the beautiful waters of Fuerteventura. Then came a major highlight – our first two-week holiday to the Philippines, an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Of course, we kept up our regular South Coast trips, and the ever-popular Farne Islands. Squeezed in between was a fantastic trip to Malta. To finish the year in style, we explored the Sound of Mull, ventured to Indonesia, and wrapped up with an amazing adventure in Egypt. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of our members. A huge thank you to everyone who organised trips.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered and organised the trips this year.
We also require members to support our club week in week out, thank you to everyone who’s helped out this year.
Thanks to our instructors (Howard, Russ, Sue, Clive, David MG, Phillip, Mark, Chris, Richard, Tanya, David Miz) for all their incredible efforts throughout the year, Andy the equipment officer and Wesley assistant training officer & website enquiries.

First up on the awards was Instructor of the Year, which went to Sue Howes. Out of such a great bunch of instructors we’re fortunate to have in our club, it’s always such a great award that means a lot, and Sue’s a very familiar face to so many of our trainees and club members and training and diving with her is always very professional but and great fun.
Club Member of The Year was given to Andy Graham, our diligent equipment officer who’s worked tirelessly most Wednesday nights this year dealing with sorting out kit and refills for everyone, amongst his many other responsibilities. He’s been the first to arrive and the last to leave each Wednesday.
And finally, the coveted Diver of The Year award went to Ray Vincent who has been on a number of great trips including Cenote diving in Mexico and the Philippines as well as helping the Diving Officer with his Advanced Diver qualification.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful 2025 and looking forward to 2026 where we have some great trips already planned and more adventures and more memories away.
