Quiz Night - Winter 2024

As a change from our usual Club Social at the pub, 36 members and partners signed up to a Club Quiz Night, held at the Welwyn Sports & Social Club on March 1st.

The teams formed up enthusiastically and armed only with liquid refreshments from the (very reasonably priced) bar, and bowls of savoury snacks, attempted the first round of picture quiz challenges from 1980's TV shows.

Then came the task of tackling the rounds of tantalizingly tricky questions set by Quizmaster Ray Williams, including a music round of "Spot-the-intro". One former DJ had a certain advantage on that round gaining 10/10, but it wasn't enough to win the quiz outright.

That dubious honour went to a formidable team comprising Andy & Tracey Graham, Phillip & Sue Allen, Charles & Martha, who scored 63 our of a possible 80. They shared the prize money of £90.

The other teams were not that far behind and a fun evening was had by all. By all accounts, it seems this won't be the last MH Quiz Night...watch out for the next one!
