Sam's first Sea Dive at Selsey

September 9th, 2020

I had my first sea dive as an Ocean Diver trainee in Selsey. I had to do a backwards roll off the rib to enter the water, which I was nervous to do at first. However, the skipper and my buddy reassured me and it was fine. The visibility was quite poor, however the use of torches allowed us to stick together. We saw a conga eel, and lots of other smaller fish. A noticeable difference from an inland dive is swimming against the waves, which gets tiring! Unfortunately, we had to cut the dive short as my ear wouldn't equalise so only managed 16 minutes underwater. Overall an enjoyable and good learning experience.
