Club Holiday to Cyprus
October 5th, 2019
For the club's 2019 diving holiday we decided on a week in Cyprus. Unlike 2018, when we booked a Red Sea liveaboard with full-on diving, we decided on a mix of diving and just chilling out.
The weather was great and the water temperature a balmy 30 degrees at the surface. A bit of a shock when we got back to the UK!
The main focus of the diving was the Zenobia, a roll-on roll-off lorry ferry sunk just off Larnaca. This was a bucket-list dive for many of us which we supplemented with some shore diving. Dive In Larnaca is based only a few metres from Larnaca harbour which itself was only 10 minutes by RIB from the wreck site. They looked after us well, arranging transfers to/from the airport and hotel. We all dived using Nitrox and had our own dive guide, very safe!
A number of non-diving partners also came along so we also managed to do some sunbathing, swimming, sightseeing and enjoying great food and drink. What was also easy was that we split the holiday arrangements among the team - thanks to Josh for arranging the flights, Simon for organising the hotel and Tanya for organising the dive centre.
