We bought a small number of these about a year ago and they seem to have worked very well, so as demonstrated at the AGM, we are proposing to put an order together for some more. As the stickers weigh very little, we can reduce the per-sticker cost by having only one lot of Post & Packaging. Anyone interested in buying some through the club, please let Clive Murphy have your order by the end of February 2009.

See www.divesigns.com website and also below, Diver Magazine article on these stickers.

Divesigns SOLAS Delayed SMB stickers

Inexpensive way of being recognised

Divesigns has developed an ingenious solution to the problem of identifying divers in the water at busy dive sites. Its Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) stickers are made from SOLAS-grade reflective fabric and can be directly stuck onto delayed SMBs. They are highly visible and designed specifically for saltwater use.

The stickers are self-adhesive and can be applied directly to the side of any buoy.Out at sea, they are easy to spot from a distance and, at a crowded site, they would certainly make it easier to identify the divers belonging to your vessel.

The text on the stickers can be printed horizontally or vertically, and the lettering is 65mm tall as standard. They can also be used for names on RIBs, markings for oxygen or nitrox cylinders, and personal details on diver propulsion vehicles (DPVs) or other equipment. The stickers cost £3 for two letters and £1 for each additional letter - for more than eight letters, the price is fixed at £9.50 per sticker.
