For those not able to attend the Club Holiday to Sark this yeaar, this is a great opportunity to do some diving closer to home.
The trip runs from Sat 21st June to Monday 23rd June (3 days).
The Maureen of Dart was originally a Scottish drifter. The boat has a spacious deck with a purpose built kitting up bench to allow 12 divers to kit up in comfort. A wide stable ladder provides easy re-entry to the boat after the dive. Cylinders are pumped in situ on the bench hence only one main cylinder is required. Nitrox is available for those suitably qualified.
There are 5 light and airy cabins; three cabins have twin bunks, one has a single plus double bunk and the fifth cabin has four bunks. Lynda and I will be reserving one of the cabins with two bunks. There is a power supply and wash basin in each cabin plus storage space for clothes. There are two showers and two toilets on board. The salon has ample space for dining on Penny’s fabulous home cooking (three meals per day) and has a stereo, TV, video and DVD player. Beer, wine and soft drinks can be brought on board or purchased from the skipper.
This long weekend is being arranged predominantly for Sport Diver Level or people close to achieving this (or above). We plan to dive wrecks in the range of 15 to 30m between Dartmouth and Plymouth with at least two dives per day. We plan to dive wrecks such as the Maine, Persier, Scylla and James Egan Layne as well as possibly some scenic diving such as Hands Deeps and Edison.
You will need a full set of diving kit including one main cylinder (ideally 15L) plus a pony cylinder or a twin set. Please also bring a torch and DSMB.
The cost for the full 3 days diving, air fills plus all meals from breakfast on 21 to lunch on 23 June (and believe me these are worth the trip alone!) is £250 per person. There is an additional cost for any nitrox used plus car parking. A deposit of £80 secures your place and the balance will be required by the 1 June 2008.
